Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
Everton have said no thanks.
Wouldn't be the worst thing to happen if he stayed with us.

He would have been a real asset for last season. Could never understand why we loaned him out and brought in players like Tore, Calleri, ZaZa and Feghouli. Common thought he was worth having on the bench, and he made some important contributions to their success last season.

He's scored some cracking goals for us and featured in our resurgence when we first signed him and Sakho.

We should bring him back and get another four or five quality additions

always seems to have a nack of making things happen when hes on the pitch.......... his technique & strength lets him down, but something always seemed to happen with him on the pitch.

he'll be like a new signing......

It depends on what the scale is for the "worst thing in the world" list. If the worst thing in the world is global nuclear holocaust then valencia staying on next season would come in a lowly seventh or eighth.

It's not a matter of absence making the heart grow fonder. He played well for Everton.

Russ, the fact that Everton don't think he's worth 14m, doesn't mean they don't think he's a decent player. It just means they don't think he's worth 14m.

I think he'd be fine as a winger/fourth choice striker. Do people think we have unlimited amounts of money to spend?

'Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world' is not a sentence we should probably be saying about players befitting a 60,000 seater-stadium.

I don't want to hear the spin of 'having him back is like signing a new player' or 'his season at Everton training with Lukaku taught him a lot about the Premier League'.

He's not good enough. Get rid.

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
Sakho and Carroll are better players by far, and, even with their injury problems, are better options than Valencia.

Sakho's rumoured other problems might tip the balance against him, but I don't know for certain that they are even real.

Ayew is also far better, even if he doesn't seem to have properly found his role in the team yet.

Fletcher could easily become a better player than Valencia, even if you think he's not already.

(Admittedly, Calleri and Zaza, are far worse than Valencia).

Some people seem to be suffering from "absence makes the heart grow fonder" syndrome.

UTT.
I agree 100%.
However, some Guys on here think that Carroll,Sakho,Callieri,Zaza,Fletcher are better options.
Their opinion, which I respect but, the Guy did get some playing time at Everton scored a couple of goals.
Surely he must be better than the aforementioned injury prone players we had last season.
Valencia for me KEEP 4th Choice

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
We should have no problem moving him on... he now has plenty of experience in the PL and (unlike some of our other strikers) I don't suppose he is on big money.... should be quite attractive to a newly promoted side for £10m.

Could actually see him at Newcastle.

I think we'll be lucky to get back the 2m he went for 6 months before we bought him for 12m.

Can't believe Everton actually loaned him. Proper clueless mong.

Yes, why? Because generally he is a bit shit.

Keep him. Sign just the one striker. Sell Sakho. Job done.

move him on, next

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
Or perhaps they didn't want to spend £14m on him?

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
So we get rid of a bloke on loan because he was, well, generally pretty shit. The club he was on loan to has said not thanks to a permanent deal because he was, well, generally pretty shit.

And the OP wants him back.

Sell him for whatever you can get and move on.

But he scored that goal v hull?

Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
Ayew is a far, far better player than Valencia. 6 goals from 16 PL starts after a bad injury and being in and out of the side. Compare that to Valencia's first season when he started 25 games and only managed 4 goals.

Darby_ 8:34 Tue May 30
Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
The point is, it's easy to say that but last season we brought in a striker supposedly worth $20m and he was worse than what we had before.

Can we guarantee they'll be better this time?

cholo 8:19 Tue May 30
Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
They were worse but not by much, we should be looking to do much better striker wise this summer.

Darby_ 8:14 Tue May 30
Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
We did move him along last summer. And all the players we got to replace him were worse, including one supposedly valued at 20m.

Rossal 8:10 Tue May 30
Re: Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Enner Valencia was with us next season
He's shit

Move him on this summer along with most of our attacking options at present

Just because there is no-one better in the squad at the moment doesnt mean we should settle for shit like Enner
